As it says in 2 Cor 2:14, our purpose in all ministry is to manifest the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him, in every place, not to follow our own ways. Gehazi was tested and found wanting. Naaman was healed and became a witness for Yahweh in Syria!
Let’s examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith! Are we following the dictates of our hearts, and trusting our own thoughts like Gehazi? Or are we stepping out in obedience to the will of God, like Naaman?

Discussion Questions: (Choose a few)
What new thing did you learn in this lesson?
It is easy to see that good old King Jehoram from the Northern Kingdom had acute anxiety. Elisha, however, always remained calm. Why do you think that was?
Why did Naaman get so angry with Elisha?
Have you ever expected God to do something one way and He did it another way? Tell what happened.
Why do you think Gehazi was punished so severely?
Naaman decided to follow the Lord’s word anyways, even if it did not seem rational, or he did not agree with it. And he was healed! Why do you think God decided to heal Naaman? Did Naaman have the faith to be healed? Why or why not?
Why does it look poorly on God if his leaders have a lot of money? Do you think it is okay for a “man of God” to drive a fancy car? What about wearing expensive shoes or clothes?
Do you think it was acceptable that Naaman wanted to still bow to Rimmon, while he was with the King of Syria, doing his job? Is it ok for us to worship other gods if our job demands it? What about eating food sacrificed to idols? What about having to go along with Pride Month at work? Can you think of other situations like this?
Why did Elisha say, “ Go in Peace?”
Who was the real hero in the story? Why?
How can we guard against Pride and Greed?
Was Gehazi a bad guy all along? Or a good guy that made a mistake? What do you think?
Have you ever been prideful about something? How about greedy?
What new character traits of Elisha can be found in this lesson?
Closure: Take a moment to listen quietly to a worship song of your choice. While listening, ask Jesus to show you if you have any areas of pride or greed to confess. If so, pray silently for yourself during the song.
